This was my introduction to Deep Purple. I found it in the £1 box in my fave indy record shop and being eager to expand my musical horizons, I took a chance. Awesome from start to finish. After that, I bought every Deep Purple LP that I saw.

Even sampled a hi-hat off that album. 😁

This must be the ultimate live record; at least the best live hard rock record ever made. I don't think there are hard rock fans who don't like this record. It's Deep Purple at their best.

The steam device would be much cooler if it was made like a ZX Spectrum Next.
A Keyboard (and mouse of course) that you connect to your TV.
And of course you could connect a controller to it, like Spectrum does with a joystick.

Right, I've seen "The Running Man" 2025. A vast improvement on the 1987 Glaser film, with much greater faithfulness to the novel and impressive fan service and literal cultural references.

It's well shot and acted but the ending is messy and shies away from the grim message of the source material.

You think I'd time these better? 🎃 Certain games on the #C64 are just so fondly remembered and literally EVERYONE owned a copy. This is one such. I had no patience for it as a kid, as I had no idea what I was meant to do. Still now, just played, I don't. But lordy - she's good.

50 companies held sway over the U.S. media in 1983. By 2006, that figure had plummeted to less than 10 and as of today, a mere 6 corporations control the majority of the content that people in the U.S. watch, read and listen to. The bids for WB Discovery mean further consolidation and less choice.
Paramount, Netflix, and Comcast are putting in bids for Warner Bros. Discovery.

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was, in the long run, a very bad idea with disastrous consequences.

I'm gonna watch this today as a little treat now that my thesis is submitted. I've avoided the reviews and I'll judge it for myself. From what the trailer has revealed, it's a more faithful adaptation of "Bachman's" novel than the 1987 film.

Let's see if that faithfulness includes the ending... 🤫
