Had a wonderful lunch at SIBA - The Restaurant, in Cape Town, for Christmas. Truly a great culinary experience from Chef #SibaMtongana

#Stellenbosch has some beautiful tasting room setups. This is Oldenburg Vineyard's own.

Okay so Boom. This #Reynvaan #Syrah, Walla Walla Valley, 2017. Not long introduction needed. If you know Syrah, you know Reynvaan, and if you don't - welcome.

A great wine. Has a very smoky undertone, which may or may not be your thing. Complemented my corned beef (Trini style) well. #BlueSkyWine

Lmao. Yeah - I probably have equal parts - I just haven't opened any in the past week at home to give full reviews. But these are the most recent three (tossing in a Rose since it sits in the middle) that I can highly recommend

Over the weekend, tried this banger of a
#Gamay - Domaine Mee Godard, Morgan Corcelette, 2021

The balance on this wine is absolutely incredible, making it the ultimate food wine. Did a couple pairings with this; first Cajun Shrimp, and then, more adventurously, Suya.

Absolutely smoked both

Opened this 2017 Spring Mountain District #ConnCreek #CabernetSauvignon during the week. Like a lot of Conn Creek's AVA series, it's reliable without being mind blowing. Super easy to drink.

Decent enough with the NY strip steak I'd made the day before, but not a must buy at $135. Consider at $60

My latest opened exploration is a J. Vignier "Aux Origines" Blanc de Blancs.

Yeasty. Toasty. Enjoyably Dry. Gave a Grilled NY Strip the perfect cleansing complement between bites.

Honestly a must buy in that $50-$60 range. You'll find few better.

Look at these cooking times. That's how much time she spent on that lasagna.
