Sad to say, the majority of tourists flying into Japan don't give a toss about etiquette, basic or otherwise, as long as they get something cool to post on Insta 😞. #maincharactersyndrome Don't let it spoil your trip, tho.

10 days isn't a lot of time so planning out every day will be the best way to go. I would definitely advise you to fly into Tokyo and out of Osaka if possible (or the other way around) to save time and money doing to round trip!🏯

Plan your trip for sometime between October and March. That'll take care of that little suggestion pronto. Mind you, you're not going to escape the 20,000-steps-a-day, feet-deceasing hell that a trip to Japan entails in any case. Good luck!😁

... stay in the Umeda area of Osaka rather than Kyoto. It saves you having to hotel hop and Umeda is a fantastic base for exploring the entire Kansai area. 😊

You will honestly have no problems navigating without Japanese, in Osaka too (thanks to the Expo, they've just made a huge effort to make everything easier for non-Japanese-speakers). But, just in case, the translate function on Google Lens will be mega handy for reading menus, signs and stuff.😁
