I know it’s small consolation, and a weird irony, but you’re popular right now on FB

My personal embroidery has taken a bit of a backseat as I’m working on a community textile project with our #LongCovidSupport group at #BrainHealthBreakthroughCIC
Some beautiful contributions from our group members

This is Oscar Wilde’s prison door which I saw at Queer Britain in London a couple of years ago. It’s titled ‘We Who Live in Prison’. I’ve written out the artist statement in the alt text. Seeing it in person was powerfully poignant.

My piece for this week’s #WIPWednesday is for @longcovidsupport.bsky.social Long Covid Banner. Those numbers are my lowest & highest recorded heart rates since I started wearing an armband monitor this year. A slightly rushed freehand piece because of the deadline. I’m using coton a broder thread

How is it #WIPWednesday again already? Did a bit more on my woodland #embroidery ‘Life Force’ at the weekend but I’ve ground to a halt again. I’ll come back to it.

My current work in progress is very slow progress, but that’s ok.

The embroidery style is known as thread painting, stitched with single strands of embroidery floss to build up layers of detail. It can take hours to do a very small area.

Dandelions are amazing. Beautiful, strong and important. They are great for tired bumblebee rescues. This photo is from a few summers ago

Delighted to see @wildflowerhour.bsky.social has migrated here. It’s an absolute joy to have your feed filled with flowers every Sunday evening, or indeed at anytime
To take part, share your wildflower images with the tag #wildflowerhour
Here’s a common spotted orchid (not a recent pic)

Hi everyone, good to be here. Liking the vibe 💚 So far I’ve found lots of writers & scientists which is right up my street. I also love textile art. Here’s one of my pieces-Stitching Myself Back Together. There’s a whole story behind it but that’s for another day. Photo by British Textile Biennial
