I feel old dating but like question for the group, it’s normal to see multiple people and then eventually be like “Hello X. I’d like to just see you exclusively” right? And then you both agree to those terms.

Purely anecdotal, but my mom, a historically conservative leaning independent, has now gone full DC statehood and had a deep distaste for Laura Ingram and Karoline Leavitt due to them “wearing the cross in vain.”

At some point we have to start looking at outcomes like this at a population level in terms of human factors not individual responsibility. Are these dudes shitty? Yes but like also I firmly believe that when something becomes this wide spread it’s the result of a policy failure.
I saw a few posts saying that this post is somehow giving shitty dudes an excuse for being shitty. It’s not that, it’s just explaining that this 3rd space and lack of interacting with normal people accelerated their antisocial and gross behavior.

I think about how we all have to spend a ton of time talking about how difficult it is for the rust belt and places like West Virginia losing jobs and how it impacts their community. These are valid but I don’t understand why empathy is only supposed to be extended to the white working class.
Sadly, in my little red/purple area and talking to people from back in PA this seems to be easily the majority opinion of MAGA and independents.
