In fact, if we did teach self-defense to all young girls we'd quickly see men using it as a defense --
ignoring all the implications of power imbalance, manipulation, and men deliberately seeking out vulnerable women.

This really isn't going to address situations like this that involve manipulation or abuse of trust. Self-defense is important, but if you're unable in the moment to form cohesive conclusions about being sexually assaulted, you're not going to use physical force against a bestselling author.
