Sapphic fiction writer. False Starts & Artichoke Hearts and Painted Over are my novels. I talk a lot about books, Eurovision, and vegan food. Always typos.
Here in Saint Paul, Minnesota but carrying Indianapolis (and corn) in my heart.

I love that my inbox is just vegan cheese companies warning me to get my order in if I want edible food this thanksgiving.

I just googled “dumpster fire gifts” so that’s how work is going. But luckily I really like my coworkers so we are in the flaming dumpsters together with our little thimbles of water and eventually we will put it out.

So embarrassed. I had to ask my younger coworker to combine two PDFs for me like a boomer, because I don’t have a license yet.

I moved to Minnesota with ATT for my cell phone, but there are huge dead spots in the twin cities including my apartment. I can’t call people from home because for a several block radius around my building I get no signal.

Any suggestions of what cell phone company works in Saint Paul/Minneapolis?

Do you ever scroll through news headlines and just laugh because it’s just so ludicrous to have all of these awful things happening at the same time?

So the republicans snuck a bit into the bill to reopen the gov that limits hemp product which will override my state and other state’s laws. Because apparently everyone has to experience the horrors fully sober.

Before I never think about the “did women ruin the workplace” nonsense ever again, I just wanted to throw back to 6 months ago when a man was so upset at interviewing with a panel of 3 women and not getting the job that he sent me a slew of emails calling us the bimbo brigade.

Made myself a little podcast recording corner. Got to talk to Elly Blue of @microcosm.bsky.social about our new queer Halloween sci-fi/fantasy bicycling short story anthology, What Rides at Night.

Same sex marriage survived, at least for today.

Quick, I need to get married at least one more time. Are the Indigo Girls currently on tour?

Because I am a lady on a budget, I’m currently watching shows for free on Tubi. I’ve been looking for a new sci-fi/fantasy show and started watching Haven and it’s filling that weird case of the week niche, a la Eureka. And there are 5 seasons so it’ll tide me over for a bit.

Facebook just reminded me that I have a friend request pending. I’ve left it sitting there unanswered for ELEVEN YEARS.

It can wait a little while longer.

“Did Women Ruin the Workplace” (later changed from Women to Liberal Feminism because I guess it was too obvious otherwise) is a headline that says a workplace is for the men and how dare these shrews come in and make it less fun to do guy stuff there.

Reasons I don’t subscribe to NYT.

Whoever won this argument at People, the magazine needs to give them a raise.
People has named Jonathan Bailey the Sexiest Man Alive of 2025.

I don’t know about everyone else but I’m pretty tired of billionaires telling the rest of us we should be grateful.

Thank you @naomikritzer.bsky.social for explaining the ballot initiatives in Saint Paul, and also explaining that things I thought were true because they are normal in a city (being able to fine people and companies for breaking laws and regulations) actually are not yet true. 🤯

Going to the doctor for my annual checkup is always hilarious, because all these warnings and signs say if you end up having something wrong with you this visit is no longer covered.

For-profit health insurance should be illegal. I should be able to ask what I want.

I haven’t sent out many stories this year, but I was so excited to open my emails and see one of the few I did send out has been accepted!

Can’t wait til I can say where.

Between this and my author copies of What Rides at Night arriving yesterday, I’m in a pretty great mood today.

Have you ever been folding laundry and discover the other half of a pair of socks that you’ve been missing for a long time, and you’re like I have no idea where you’ve been but welcome back.

I so appreciate my coworkers wanting to make food I can eat…but gluten free and vegan are not the same thing and then I don’t want to say anything and hurt their feelings but I also can’t eat the thing. I do count the thought though!

I tracked this book down at the post office since they just kinda stopped delivering to me. But it’s here!! Look how pretty it is!

“That’s all?” I scoff as the reality should announces that the winner gets $250k. “That’s so little money.”

Meanwhile 10% of that would change my whole life.

Money is weird.

I haven’t received mail in over a week, including 3 packages shipped USPS. They marked all the packages on different days as “could not access building.” My friends…they have a key.

Turns out they’re so understaffed that they can’t deliver mail. Breaking point, we passed it.

I constantly get emails and calls from Venmo telling me someone is trying to access my account. As far as I can tell they’ve never got in, but should I just cancel having a Venmo account? It always tells me to change my PW but I don’t have one, just the phone app. It’s a bit concerning.
