It's November, and that means THIS is around the corner! I'll be going up to Alex VA for an event at Old Town Books on Sun 16th, 7pm. Hoping some of my NoVA friends can come! Miss you! And (wink-wink) this book would make a very cool holiday gift :)

This year, one of my favorite "conteuses", @christymarx.bsky.social, shared my blog for Women's History Month 2025. My new list of recs will be launched on 03/01/2026 and feature works by the likes of @kendareblake.bsky.social and @janeharrington.bsky.social. It's tricky choosing the right emojis♀️

#BookMail!! When I bought this copy of Women of the Fairy Tale Resistance by @janeharrington.bsky.social , I planned to give it as a gift and buy the audiobook for myself. Which I still will do. But obviously I need my own print copy too because look at the gorgeousness!!!

I've yet to order @janeharrington.bsky.social's fairy tale book, but I'm happy to see Persinette among the selected stories. Written by Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force, the French story inspired the Grimm Brothers' Rapunzel, @kateforsyth.bsky.social's Bitter Greens, and my 2016 blog post 💇🏼‍♀️

A blog post about Persinette, a fairy tale written by Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force and retold by the Brothers Grimm as Rapunzel.

Two years ago, @laurenjabear.bsky.social wrote Medusa's Sisters🐍🐍🐍, one of my favorite books. Now, I finally have my very own snake wig, wearing it to teach my class the classic stories and take fun selfies. Also can't wait to read @janeharrington.bsky.social's fairy tale book📘.

Just read the book 2025 needs - Women of the Fairy Tale Resistance by Jane Harrington. Despite my love of fairy tales and studying children's literature for a while, I never knew the true origins of fairy tales in 17th century and the conteuses/female storytellers behind them.
