Went to this really great Russian-Georgian restaurant in San Diego called “Pomegranate” and I couldn’t help but think about beloved Russian-American character Anora and how her name means Pomegranate in another language. It’s as if Ani was with me in spirit.

After a hard week, Nights of Cabiria was a special watch. Giulietta Masina suffers tremendously throughout, abused and destitute; but after finding herself lost in the woods with partying youths, her troubled tears turn into a smile - she will get through it. Powerful showcase of human resilience.

Said goodbye to my sweet Renley-boy this afternoon. We went through so much together during his eleven years. It wasn’t old age that got him, but an incurable condition called degenerative myelopathy a few months ago. He was in otherwise perfect health. I will miss seeing his sweet face so much.
