A mood board for my WIP, a YA fantasy novel that is like Pirates of the Caribbean—if Elizabeth Swann fell for another noblewoman instead of Will Turner. The board is divided into three columns representing the main characters: Captain Amir, Princess Mira, and John. Amir’s column shows dark images of a hand sinking into stormy seas, a sunken ship, and a captain’s boots propped onto a table with the quote “Continue to love. Continue to forgive. Thalia has no education beyond what we would consider the 1st grade. She's reasonably well ready by choice, but her knowledge of 'who's who' and history are exceptionally limited.

The only 'historical' figures she's revered in text have been saints.
