Dude, I came from Scotland and got to 3 of the final 4 games. You recommended the 200 section which was awesome (Friday). Thanks so much. Today was amazing! The pic is my wife and I circled for Kirk’s slam today

The book is amazing. Write a sequel. Sign me up for a preorder!

42. Slow Horses starts again on Apple TV soon. Here’s a cracking remember of Mick Herron’s brilliance in The Drop

41. Escapism is needed sometimes. A maritime murder mystery from the king of crime Michael Connolly. Nightshade, out in 2025

40. A brilliant book about the play off sealing Toronto Blue Jays by Keegan Matheson. Full of stories, wit and wonder

39. Is a really good guide on leading in AI. Less about the tech and a healthy balance of action, advice and watch outs by Geoff Woods.

Picking up the latest @ronsexsmith.bsky.social from a local indie record shop in Glasgow. That’s a Friday done well already!

38. A fantastic page turner here. It’s about gang chicanery with a laugh out loud approach. Every chapter has a new bastard!

Loved hearing @blakemurphy.bsky.social talk Pixies and MCR on Jays Talk Plus. I’d made the pilgrimage from Scotland too. I couldn’t get the Jays game on the wife though! Gig was awesome tho!

Great seats. Back at Rodgers Centre for the Rays series in September!

37. A cute and weird and wonderful story of a universe dying and we don’t know why. Scot, Kieran and their space cat Pumpkin race to find answers against a determined and well resourced foe. Highly recommended!

At last. My preorder in the UK was a no show but a wee trip to Toronto this weekend has borne fruit @keeganmatheson.bsky.social - yay!

36. A 2nd hand pick up from somewhere sometime ago. A Mary Russell (not Mrs Holmes!) adventure. This time it is a trip to India to find O’Hara and a Maharaja who is up to no good.

Felt a big of a drag this one but as usual King writes vividly of the space and time in these Holmes pastiches

Was going to buy this, read the back cover and it talked me out of it. Working already!

33. Another Toby Walsh book on AI. This one is a watch out for the technology and business in general. Be careful of those who come bearing promises…

32. The legendary Irvine Welsh has the rather flawed Ray Lennox on a revenge mission in this one and it’s the usual Welsh fare. Wild, mad and visceral scenes and a twist or two to boot!

31. This was a quick read. Well, a quick listen to be honest. The audio quality was lacking, ironically a tad AI-ish. Some good insight but very much in the middle of the road stuff.

Absolute certainty that there will be 330 pints sold...

30. I’m a defo techno-optimist. But as I embark on some late life studying it’s key to get lots of perspectives and this book from Toby Walsh has provided much food for thought. So much good, so much to be careful about.

And the paragraph on Amazon’s warehouse management blew my tiny mind!

29. Read this cover to cover. A great 180 pages of insight and thought-provoking ideas and concepts. Susskind is a true leader in this field

28. The undoubted Queen of Scottish crime fiction. Delving back into the archives for a @valmcdermid.bsky.social classic. Katie Pirie’s debut and a total page turner. Dead Beat!

27. No wonder this was Booker nominated. Stunning book. A retelling of the Twain/Finn world through the eyes of slave called James who wants to be free. The duality of the world he lives in and wants to be free in is brilliantly told. Huckleberry Finn fans will recognise much of this world.
