Every time I do my tax return I wonder why situations like "part-ownership of oil rig before 1978" and "losses accrued from repainting farm machinery (not for agricultural use)" are prioritised over "got paid for some work I did". Is there a good (for them not us) UI reason?

There are jobs that never get done unless there's a writing deadline, and I'm certain there's a word in German for them.
