SANTA SABOTEURS: Download and play a festive version of the WEREWOLF card game. • jonathanemmett.com
Between games in this year's world cup, the England Men's Football Team spent their evenings playing Wolf, a card game also known as Werewolves, which is enjoyed by my family and many of my friends.

Just to confirm my suspicions that people’s perception of the national position (via social/media) is very different from their local perceptions, these graphs from @moreincommonuk.bsky.social via @samfr.bsky.social’s sane and vital Substack, illustrate the difference

This may explain why there’s an aggressive response to people who merely post Kirk’s own words. It threatens the existence of the alternate Kirk - the motivational speaker that had been marketed to young kids and white Christian groups through selective quotation & clips.

A fake Daily Mail article about the government considering a ban on displaying England flags in public is circulating online.

The Daily Mail said it published no such article, and the government also confirmed it has no plans to do this. Our fact check: fullfact.org/culture-and-...

The point of journalism is to tell people the truth! If the population and political leaders are panicking about something that isn't happening, your job as a reporter is to loudly debunk it — not plead with the other party to join the panic.
"but crime is a real issue, people are worried about crime and you have to take that seriously"

No you don't! If people are getting more scared about crime while crime is happening less frequently, it's a made up issue and you should make a point of yelling that all the time

Puzzling as to how the US Veep can feel safe bringing his family to a riot torn hellhole country without any freedom of speech.

Obviously he has security, but could it be just possibly that those claims are on closer inspection almost complete nonsense.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

This really is not getting the attention it should. The Tories' latest proposal is to exclude *any household that includes any foreign national from any benefit*.

And when asked about it, they keep citing small boat crossings - a minute fraction of migration - to justify it. ~AA

People deserve to feel safe walking the streets, wherever they are. Part of that is about tackling crime, but part of that is about people having the honesty not to baselessly scaremonger – and there's a lot of people indulging in the latter.

Fine, FINE, bait taken: short-ish thread on crime, in response to the various "London has fallen" takes. 🧵

Is crime in London the worst in the country? No!

Cleveland (Middlesbrough/Hartlepool) records more crime and violent crime than London, as does West Yorkshire.

Journalists at the Farage press conference repeating Reform's framing of this policy as "robin hood" because the non-dom fee will be redistributed to poorer workers, whilst missing the fact that it hands tens of billions of pounds in tax cuts to the wealthiest people already living in the UK
