6. The future. Nique Clifford needs minutes right now. He's developing and will make some mistakes, but with the Kings sitting at 3-9, it might be time to adjust the team's thinking this season. He posted 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the blowout.

5. Yikes. Plus/Minus isn't a great stat, but sometimes it matches what you see on the court. Domantas Sabonis posted 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes. He also turned the ball over 4 times and ran a team-worst -38.

4. Milk carton. DeMar DeRozan has an occasional stinker, but this was next level. With a major need for scoring, DeRozan shot just 1-for-6 from the field on his way to 4 points. The Kings couldn't afford this kind of an off night from one of their top scorers.

3. Better? It couldn't really get worse for Dennis Schröder, who came into the night shooting 1-for-19 over his previous three games. The veteran point guard hit shots early and finished with 9 points on 3-of-8 shooting to go with 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

2. More Keon. With Zach LaVine and Malik Monk sitting out, Keon Ellis got extended minutes. He was active defensively and moved the ball in the half court offense. Ellis shot 6-of-11 from 3 to finish the night with 20 points and 2 steals.

1. Line change. With his starting unit playing listless basketball coming out of the half, Doug Christie pulled all 5 starters 2:13 into the third. It didn't really make an impact, but the message was clear. Play better or sit on the bench and watch.

7. Doug Christie had an interesting pregame conversation with the media after a pair of stinkers by his team. The group looked motivated, playing hard and together for much of the night. This might not be a turning point in the season, but the team competed for 48.

6. Tough sledding. Dennis Schröder is in a complete funk. The veteran point guard is now 1-for-19 from the field over the last three games, including an 0-of-3 night against the Nuggets. Schröder looks uncomfortable on the court and unwilling to shoot.

5. Stuffing the stat sheet. Russell Westbrook has cooled off from three, but he still finds ways to make an impact. The future Hall of Famer dropped 14 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds on his former team. He never takes a play off.

4. Uncharacteristic. DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine are pretty consistent, especially with their scoring and shot attempts. That wasn't really the case against Denver. DeRozan posted 18 points on 7-of-15 and LaVine added 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting.

3. Drew Eubanks came off the bench to add some offense. With Sabonis in foul trouble, someone needed to step up in the post and Eubanks made an impact. The veteran center finished with 19 points and 7 rebounds.

2. Loud early, quiet late. Malik Monk struggled last time out, but he looked ready to roll from the moment he stepped on the floor against Denver. Monk posted 10 points in the first half, but he cooled off in the second half, scoring just 2 points after the break.

1. Domantas Sabonis is still grabbing at his ribs every play, but that didn't stop him from battling. The Kings' star center scored 19 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. He struggled with foul issues, eventually leaving the game after picking up his 6th.
