Labor giving a $45m loan to KKR is just something else.

I am begging journalists to stop writing puff pieces like this while Labor gives the fossil fuel industry everything they want
September 15, 2025 at 4:13 AM
What does that even mean?

News Corp commentators would nuke Fitzroy if they could
September 11, 2025 at 1:37 AM
The comments are very much picking up what News Corp are putting down.
September 11, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Ah, News Corp running a story about NEOM to dog whistle about 15 minute city conspiracy theories and promote the idea that reducing car use and cutting emissions is somehow tied to slavery. Cool and normal.

The speed and scale of investment in “AI” is mind boggling. After being told for decades that a rapid transition to clean energy is “expensive” and “unrealistic”, watching this play out is like living in a fever dream

I think 'Digital Sovereignty' is a great concept to work with, and it's all really well laid out by @ceciliarikap.bsky.social here. We can take control of technology and get it working for us and make our lives better, but we need to fight big tech for real techwontsave.us/episode/290_...

Anthony Albanese is a despicable grub who never deserves to know peace again. The audacity to compare protesting against a genocide to cheering for a football team…

I released some music today. It'd be really cool if you listened to it gyro.to/IcyPeaks

The ALP using the spectre of Trump to scare people into voting for them and then immediately supporting Trump’s illegal war is just so very them

Or to put it more succinctly

There is nothing Labor aren't willing to hand over to big business

Odd story. Buried under the lead about Albo's evangelism for neoliberalism is this story about the Australian govt collaborating with Amazon to build massive new surveillance infrastructure in Melbourne www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Big tech's vision for the future is nakedly fascist and AI is at the centre of their strategy. I reckon there's actually a disturbing lack of negativity about it, to be quite frank.

Since the referendum there has been a well organised attack on Welcome To Countries as a way to drive Aboriginal people out of public life. It's gaining traction in high places now. I'm not seeing much in the way of organised pushback against this assault from the right
April 28, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Hard to think of a media organisation that's done more to whip up the culture war over Welcome To Countries than the Daily Mail. Yet have the nerve to fein outrage when their culture war finds voice in the real world. Fuck these tabloid arseholes

This story from Sept contained an interesting tidbit. The mining billionaires are genuinely worried about The Greens having balance of power and they're gonna pull out all the stops. I'd say that's a pretty good sign they are doing things right tbh
December 2, 2024 at 10:02 PM
Big business clearly see The Greens as a threat and are willing to spend big to try slowing them down this election. Advance have set up a shell page and already spent $7,000 in Victoria in 2 weeks. Lots of ads with small variations. Expect that spend to rocket up once they get the formula right
