In a dataset that takes a holistic accounting of housing stability in ATL MSA, some key patterns emerge. Although there are relatively few neighborhoods that can be classified as 'very stable' from the standpoint of how far household income can take you, it is alarming that none are majority-Black.

During my dissertation research on Black middle-class neighborhoods, I had memorable conversations about racial makeup preferences. Across interviews, three neighborhood types emerged: majority-Black, 50/50, and US-style diversity. This graph based on the Atlanta MSA reflects these preferences.
