I've recently learned that, in what has to be one of the most pathetic attempts at fraud in recent history, someone is impersonating me and asking for money to read queries. I would never do that! Nor would any legitimate literary agent. We work on spec, getting paid only when the author is paid.

Maybe people wouldn't get so mad at health insurance companies if we accurately described how they work. Paying premiums doesn't buy you care, it buys you the opportunity to pay an unknown amount for care in the future. Hmm ok that may make people more mad actually
