See the difference?

Within the trans community, even when we disagree, we all believe we deserve good quality care. We think any restrictions should show benefits.

For the mainstream, restrictions are assumed to be beneficial, because being trans is perceived as worse than being cis is.

The law doesn't care about our lives. That was my big takeaway. It doesn't care if our treatments are necessary or unnecessary, and it doesn't care if the states help us or harm us.

Some of the judges may care.

But the law doesn't.

We keep telling you that it is not about children. Matt Walsh at the Supreme Court says this is just the beginning and they will not stop until "trans ideology is entirely erased from the Earth."

This is a statement of genocidal intent. You cannot erase an idea, but you can try to erase a people.

That a right-wing lawyer just suggested before the Supreme Court that Americans don't have a right to not conform is... a real mask-off moment in a way I suspect is not going to get enough attention.

The Supreme Court case tomorrow is fundamentally not about gender affirming care, it's about whether or not trans people have any protections under the 14th amendment. A loss in this case would greenlight a torrent of explicitly discriminatory legislation without much, if any judicial recourse.

Be suspicious of any reporter, commentator, or outlet who claims Skrmetti is limited just to children. If the Supreme Court goes for Tennessee’s reasoning, it could also impact transgender adults and a lot of other medical care.
Very Smart Reporters are going to act like US v. Skrmetti only implicates gender-affirming care for trans kids. In fact, it could allow sex discrimination in many other kinds of medical care. Yes, like birth control. Me in @tnr.bsky.social on how our rights are intertwined:
The Supreme Court May Use Dobbs to Take Down Trans Rights—and Beyond
The overturning of Roe was always going to affect more than just abortion, and we’re about to find out how bad it can get.

me before realizing I am trans: I don’t get why men are so insecure about their height it’s so stupid
me since transitioning: I am a 5’4” man I have no value in this world

I like how chappell roan said trans issues were her biggest reason for not endorsing Kamala Harris and now she's completely quiet as our community faces oblivion under the incoming Trump administration.

I saw this one coming.

This explains why conservative fear-mongering is such an easy play in America.

— Ppl believe Jewish ppl make up 30% of the nation (Real number, 2%)

Tonight is probably one of the worst mental health crisis in the trans community I've ever seen. It's bleak. So many people are in crisis and I'm scared I'm going to wake up tomorrow and have lost friends.

Please reach out to your trans friends and family. They could use some love.

this is bigger than rep mcbride, who can’t or won’t fight for herself. we need folks to stand with us now. call scripts & info follow.🧵

Oh and fuck every Democrat who didn't IMMEDIATELY release a statement saying "trans women are women and we will protect our colleague" because as much as I hate and disagree with what McBride did, she only did so because every cis Democrat, all of them, EVERY SINGLE ONE, let her down.
