Biden restored some normalcy to our international standing.
Republicans abandoned Ukraine in favor of Russia. Unless you point that out, you’re ignoring facts.

We should have sooner. We have been complacent, believing the unbelievable would never happen.

Frankly, we've been crazed and unpredictable for a while. I'm surprised Europe hasn't reacted appropriately sooner.

Yes, sad, but eventually - the sooner the better - a militarily strong Europe standing united and apart from crazed, unpredictable America.

And I agree, it is now far more likely that the Europeans, led by Germany and France and perhaps joined by UK, will create an independent military force. The region, site of so much brutal horror over the last 200 years, may return to an era of instability and danger.

I feel like this is simply not discussed enough. The US duty to protect Ukraine is not just about opposing Russia or defending against aggression. We specifically made an agreement with Ukraine for security guarantees in exchange for Ukraine not having nuclear weapons. Russia too...

I can't see Germany, Poland, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Australia not developing nuclear weapons ASAP, and it's all on Trump and his craven display today.

There's a lot of noise, a lot of chaotic destruction, and a lot of personal transactionalism with Trump. But on core beliefs, which don't change for any president, he always reverts. He attacks allies and admires dictators. Europe should treat this as a new era. 6/

His views aren’t as confused as they seem. In fact, they’re remarkably consistent—and they have a long history.
