Here’s a sneak peek inside my Ceramics Monthly - Tips and Tools article “Cardboard Slump Mold.” February 2025.

It breaks down the tools and steps you’ll need to make your own custom slump mold.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Exciting news! My first article, Cardboard Slump Mold, is featured in Ceramics Monthly!
The step-by-step guide helps Potters create custom moulds with simple materials. Grateful for the opportunity!

I just finished making this vision board collage that I meant to make at the beginning of the new year - better late than never! To see what it’s all about check out the alt text.

I just worked 10 hrs straight: arrived early to learn the ropes at a new pottery studio, taught 3 rounds of 2.5 hour sessions - 10 peeps -30 min turnover. All beginner wheel - 1 session drop in. I haven’t worked that hard in ages! It was kinda like the first day of school for everybody involved.

Still working on both sides of social media.

I don’t know how to create content for blue sky - I don’t even know who I’m talking to or with.

Here are a few of the tools I’m working with at the moment.

Clay recycling tips. 👇

Use a plaster trough lined with cotton for mess-free and easier pick up.

Here’s a close up of the miniature buildings in my board game sculpture Chemin Du Roy.

Which home from your ancestry spark the most nostalgia?

Tell me why it sparks memories for you.

A day or two later and I still feel rising anxiety. Brings me back to the beginning of the pandemic.

Thank goodness for art and other creative pursuits.

Here’s the front of the punch needle work using the #Oxfordpunchneedle 10 and 14 with bulky wool. Location pins-ceramics and Nichrome wire.

Anyone else feel like flipping out?

This is the reverse side of a #punchneedle work I made that locates ancestral adobes on both side of the border.

It’s important to see things from different viewpoints in art, and in life.

Who else is waking up to a strange new world? Anxiety level 📶

This was the first artwork I made for the mentorship: make something not out of clay.

I have four of those boat-shaped car parts that I’ve been saving to do something with.

The boat represents the immigration of the 1st ancestor to North American soil, landing in what is now L’Ange-Gardien, QC.

Have you ever participated in a mentorship?

The artworks I made in 2023-24 with mentor Susan Low-Beer, all connect to ancestry on my paternal grandmother’s side.
The final piece was a ceramic game board. Can you guess the game homage?

This ceramic painter’s palette is not art related in theme but will be perfect for yoga practitioners who paint.

Reinterpretation of a favourite fir another #ceramic#painters#palette

Less goat, more indistinct mammal.

A few bits of creative licence to make it work better as a palette.

PS It’s especially nice to feel the raised bits after a red rib rub. #redribrub

Do you get frustrated with round plastic palettes that have only 10 wells in them?

This 12+ welled Rose Window inspired #painter #palette will allow full colour wheel exploration.

Required a little bit of geometry. 📐✏️

Here’s an update on two painters’ palettes.
Picasso and Metropolis inspired.
After the initial carving and drying under drywall, they were ready for the second round of refining and finessing. My mind is exploding with ideas.

Calling all #watercolour or #underglaze #artists - Here’s my next painter’s palette idea. Raw clay ATM-Imagine shiny white glaze. Just add blue washes to re-create the Matisse painting Nu bleu IV and then use the fully functional palette 🎨.

Do hashtags work here? #fillable #playful#ceramicpalettes

Here’s my Picasso inspired Painter’s palette.
Currently sandwiched between drywall boards, waiting for surface finessing.

🎨 Did you know watercolour paint doesn’t bead up on glazed ceramic like it does on plastic?
