Reading a book and the sentence “She resembled a pineapple I used to learn French from in elementary school.” has sent me 🍍

📖 “The Homecoming” by Andrew Pyper was creepy AF in a Black Mirror, season 1 kind of way. It doesn’t quite stick the landing in the end, but I’ll definitely read more by the author. Time for a non-scary read for now, though! 🗃️🗝️🪓 💙📚 #BookSky

@nicolascottart.bsky.social Hi from 🇨🇦👋 I got my Secret Six Omnibus vol. 2 and I love your new cover! 🤩 Who is coming at them, though? Superman, GL, WW, and I think Huntress with the crossbow, and one more? A Rocket Red, maybe? (LOVING Cheshire and Cheetah Rob the Justice League, too!) thanks! 🙏

🎧 “Queer as Folklore” by @sachacoward.bsky.social (who just won a British Fantasy Award!) explores the secret queer history of everything from mermaids/mermen, witches, pirates and unicorns to superheroes like Wonder Woman and the X-Men. So glad I listened! 🧜‍♂️ 🦄 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈 💙📚#BookSky

📖 I opted for a scary read for Halloween: “William” by the late Andrew Pyper, writing as Mason Coile. It’s a haunted-house story driven by a malicious AI protagonist with a *truly* jaw-dropping twist at the end. 😱🤖 💙 📚 #BookSky

I don’t have a new Halloween costume this time around, so please enjoy my tribute to the KXVO Pumpkin Dance from last year! 🎃

📖 The outlaw Duchess Day Radley is an outstanding, True Gritty young character I will never forget, among an already outstanding cast. After "All the Colors of the Dark", the family saga/crime drama "We Begin at the End" is a solid two for two from Chris Whitaker. Highly recommended. 📼🔥💙📚 #BookSky

📖 I’ve never read a Steven Rowley book that I haven’t loved, and “The Dogs of Venice” is no exception, however—I was *not* prepared for it to be only 70 pages long, less than an hour’s read. Luckily he has another new book next year! 🐕🇮🇹 💙📚#BookSky

📖 I loved “Disappoint Me” by Nicola Dinan, a multi-layered story about the complexities of dating between cisgender men and trans women, friendships, families, and guilt. Highly recommended. 🏳️‍⚧️ 💙 📚 #BookSky

📖 Set in 2001, “In Tongues” by Thomas Grattan follows young Gordon from the Midwest to New York City, where he starts walking dogs for two rich gallery owners who change the course of his life. A quiet rollercoaster of a read—I loved it. 🎨 💙📚 #BookSky

📖 “The Parting Gift” by Evan Fallenberg is a short queer novel from 2018 full of jealousy, obsession, suspense, and lots of spice, literal and figurative. Lots of Talented Mr. Ripley energy! 👀🌶️ #BookSky

📖 At this point I’ve become an unabashed TJ Klune fanboy and am now reading his older works. “Into This River I Drown” is a both a story of grief and a supernatural queer romance, set in the same continuity as “The Bones Beneath My Skin”. ❤️‍🔥 #BookSky

📖 I’m OOO this week resolutely not 👀 at work Slack, but did read and 👍 Calvin Kasulke’s “Several People Are Typing”, a WFH comedy told entirely in Slack messages. 💬 😆 🤖 #BookSky

📖 In “Katabasis” by R.F. Kuang, two graduate students of magic follow their academic advisor to Hell, seeking both justice and recommendation letters. An imaginative follow-up to “Babel”— I enjoyed it a lot! 🎓🔥 #BookSky

🎧 I loved the audiobook of “Super Visible: The Story of the Women of Marvel Comics”by Margaret Stohl, and the many behind-the-scenes stories of creators past and present who broke the glass ceiling of the male-dominated comics industry. 🦹‍♀️💪 #BookSky

Both runs largely hated by fandom (mainly for story reasons, not art) and yet I could go on for hours about both.
