Great article on undergrads using generative AI for coursework. But what does this free up their time for? I see some students with start-ups; one here says college is “the best place to meet your co-founder and your wife.” It also mentions TikTok. Is their data on this? (Student time use surveys?)
“Massive numbers of students are going to emerge from university with degrees, and into the workforce, who are essentially illiterate…Both in the literal sense and in the sense of being historically illiterate and having no knowledge of their own culture, much less anyone else’s.”

Does the US have a trade deficit with Canada? Yes — but only because of the massive amount of energy it buys to fuel its powerful economy of 340m people. Canada has about 42m.

Here are the trade flows on a per-capita basis — and they tell a different story.

There's no such thing as an Interim or Temporary Prime Minister.

The correct term is Pub Quiz Prime Minister.

#Syria now faces a huge challenge: putting back together a country divided by 13 years of civil war and a half-century of brutal dictatorship. The rebels are themselves significantly divided.

Assad leaves behind a fragmented nation – stabilizing it will be a major challenge for fractured opposition and external backers
Opposition forces marched into Damascus on Dec. 8, seemingly ending the half-century rule of the Assad family. But what happens next?
