It isn’t enough to perfectly replicate an aesthetic anymore, there have to be some fingerprints on the glass. Ai cannot make mistakes, that is heralded as a good thing to Ai people, so recognize it’s your only window to proving something was human made at this point. Embrace that…

The only way to beat Ai is to let some true human shitty mistakes in. Cameras that don’t land perfectly on marks, focus pulls behind missed for a second, actors who aren’t also video game characters. Look at the intentional wonky camera work in “the holdovers” and you can see a path forward…

My buddy summed it up as, “The people of the town are too busy on a “witch hunt” while an actual witch just skates by.”
The parasite thing is fun foreshadowing for sure, but “witch” being painted on her car seals that overall connection for me, personally.
