We incubated more Quail eggs, out of 29, we got ten chicks that are now almost two weeks old. Some of the eggs I used were sitting on the counter for nearly a month, so I’m sure that’s why the low hatch rate. #birds #birdsofbluesky #quail

I was working 10 meters (28.360 USB) today and got another state on my list of contacts. Alaska, which is normally fairly difficult to get. It seems my simple vertical and the TS-690 will get the job done.

Say hello Alfie. This pretty bird is nearly 50 and lives with my parents. This was a rare moment where he was in the cage. We've had him since I was a teenager (30+ years ago). He does talk, whistle, make random noises. He's hilarious and very much a member of the family. #Birds #parrot

Nice clean install in the Jeep. Someone removed the overhead console before I bought the Jeep, leaving the gaping hole between the visors. Made the perfect spot to hang the QYT 980D. #hamradio

I was looking back a bit and now, a year after obtaining my Technician License I realize how far along I've come with my HAM radio experience.
I run a local net once a month (Pacific County ARES. This net happens weekly). Also an ANCS for Western Washington District 3.

I had a radio contact ask me what the bird noise in my background was. Off you hear birds in my background during a contact, I have a small indoor quail farm, right behind the radio desk.
