I’m at the International Childhood Trauma Conference 2025 in Melbourne. Looks to be a fascinating week ahead. The conference centre has an epic feel to it - it’s the kind of place where even the chefs walk around speaking into radios like they’re in a Jason Bourne film.

I still maintain incredulity that the #auspol government advises “normal safety precautions” in the face of the increasingly authoritarian actions of the US government. Washington DC is likely a primary tourist & business destination for Australians, and right now armed troops are being deployed.

Was about to write a snippy comment about the UK Labour Minister of Justice describing a peaceful protest group as terrorists while failing to acknowledge Israel’s war crimes, but then saw this post from 3 weeks ago, and I am just ‘the actual fuck?’ I don’t see how irony comes back from this.
