Gothic metal despite what its name suggests is considered to be a metal genre (ie goth influenced metal) instead of goth music proper. It originated out of death-doom and is sister genres with funeral doom and post-metal. Many goths listen to it so it’s considered to be goth adjacent.

I’m probably the only person on earth who went out of their way to buy a Carnyx before the tariffs kicked in. I was gonna get it anyways for film scoring and solo music but I had a feeling once the tariffs kicked in they would either be too hard to find or too expensive.
