It’s obvious, but it’s also a bit weak from a rhetorical standpoint so people might still be willing to engage with it. You’ve just put an extra step between the point you’re refuting and refutation of the point you’re trying to make.

This feels like a trap where the response will be “oh yeah? What about humans?”

I’d hate to see it become a replacement for critically engaging with ideas or writing. But surely it can help some people with some things in some cases. Maybe there’s a question about how not to throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water, and maybe there’s an answer. Hopefully we find one.

I need to begrudgingly admit there’s value to these services, although it is through gritted teeth because of the damage it has done to my industry combined with ethical concerns.

I just have no solid idea how to approach the topic responsibly, as an individual or as a society.

It is being pushed by companies and included in so many products and interfaces. People are going to use it.

Damage control, at this point (barring any legislation/regulation), should maybe revolve around teaching people how to verify and encourage skepticism.

Been thinking about this a lot lately and, while I am by no means a fan of AI, I feel like my original approach to talking about it was more akin to “abstinence only” education. I’m trying to find a way of talking about it that doesn’t shame people, but instead informs them of the risks and concerns

A wide array of vibes, all solid choices.

I am an unapologetic diehard lover of the romcom genre, and would struggle to make a list like this. I like some real dopey ones.
