Reflecting on last spring when I went on a road trip to fire this liddy baby and a bunch more in my very first wood firing. Tomorrow I’m bisquing up my last batch of work for my second wood firing. The dream is to have access to a wood kiln all the time. For now, I hope to make it at least annual.

Fired just a little hot.

I’m quarantined at home with some sort of lung plague and itching to get back to the studio and photograph my results.

I threw this last night, wrapped up, went home, slept on it, awoke to the decision that I would collapse and reclaim it, looked at this photo, and now I’m having second thoughts.

I’m handbuilding. Weird, right? I’m going to wood fire these small friends and see what happens. I hope my hands learn to build them faster because I need more!

Sharpened up the imagery with a few lines and another firing. The process is imperfect but round two is in the works!
