I'm starting a thread with the legal profession's response to President Trump's attacks on it. Please feel free to add any that I miss.

I'll start with Perkins Coie's response. They have created an entire website so that we can follow along. 1/

The order violates core constitutional protections, including the rights to free speech and due process, and undermines all clients’ right to select counsel of their choice.

One theme here is the speed of American institutional collapse.
“It took Erdoğan 15 years to do what Trump did in 100 days. If [Americans] do not accept the fact that this is a long game, and it will be brutal, I think you won’t have the patience and stamina to bear it.”

I'd like to someone to ask Mitch McConnell about this prediction.

Some argue he didn't change the GOP, he reflected it. Many Trump administration policies have been a long term project for many on the right. Trump is just a vehicle to realize them.

Did you know that before Nixon and Reagan, health insurance companies in America were non-profit? Yep, they screamed about "socialized medicine" and gradually shifted the focus of our entire healthcare system from public welfare to... making bucks off illness.

As awful as this, the focus on whether the woman was complying obscures the more important issue: in a democracy, there should not be armed agents demanding to see papers of every passing person.
“Traumatized, humiliated, degraded.”

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.

They chanted "leave our neighbors alone."
In South Minneapolis, Minnesota, nearly two dozen neighbors confronted and surrounded ICE goons after rapid-response alerts were issued. The goons were questioning an East African man when the situation escalated, and they eventually left the area without making any arrests.

If the GOP fails to address the extrajudicial killing of alleged narco-terrorist in international waters, what makes you think they will reject the extrajudical killing of alleged narco-terrorist on domestic soil.

And do you know who this administration has called a terrorist?
