Whatever ends up happening with road user charges reform it has to go some way address the massive transfers from south to north.

Current situation completely undermines the idea and support for user charging.

"Sausage flats" get a bad rap, but there are better alternatives. Perimeter block housing is a feature of many great cities around the world. It would only take a tiny tweak to the Christchurch District Plan to make it a reality here too.

Walking catchments for all high density residential areas except the city center walking catchment have a height limit of 14 meters.
