Earlier this year we launched Man Made - our creative crafting group for men and several people asked us for a women's group.

Since 2014 Jack Drum Arts has trained over 200 young filmmakers, many of whom have gone on to study at university, gone on to take BFI Film Academy Specialist Courses, progressed to work placements and eventually gone on to work in the industry.

Our eleven-session course is led by skilled film industry professionals from across the North East who have a wealth of experience working in the industry, and are keen to share their skills with aspiring young filmmakers.

We visited the Knife Angel in Newton Aycliffe today. Standing before this 27 foot sculpture, made from around 100,000 surrendered knives, was deeply moving. A powerful reminder of the impact of knife crime & a striking testament to how art can be a force for change. #knifeangel

We think all of the little birds have personalities of their own and the group members are looking forward to painting them next week (when they are finished they will look a bit like Megan's lovely blue and purple bird, one of several she brought along as examples.)
