This GQ interview is symbolic of Graham Platner as a man w/ mixed feelings about his military past. He still thinks it makes sense to go fight in Iraq for adventure even though he himself thought the war was wrong. (The economic excuse some suggest doesn't jibe w/ what he says was his motivation.)

You can't legitimately be a "mediator" in a conflict when you tell one side they'll be obliterated if they don't comply with ceasefire conditions while saying nothing about any consequences whatsoever for the other side for failing to comply. This is a campaign for domination, not mediation.

In this 2-1 ruling, the 2 don't even agree with the 1 on the underlying facts. A judge in the majority describes Trump’s calling up of the NG against the will of state & local authorities as "proportionate", while the dissenting judge calls Trump’s description of the situation as "false pretenses"

Amazing how quickly someone out there will generate apocryphal quotes for a famous person. The guy has barely been pope a week and already this completely fake quote is being shared around.
