A personal goal was to hit blue ranks in Tekken by October. Time to take 3 months off to finish my book i guess.

Took a couple weeks to go to a fencing tournament and visit some friends in Fl. But now I'm back at work writing my sample chapters and must confront the horror of rereading my own dissertation chapters.

Finished up Tekken 4's OST today. This is the first one where the Arcade and Console soundtracks are the same. This is not my favorites so far, but the overall quality is great. As time progresses i'm noticing most of the songs are Good! but fewer that specifically stand out.

The full title (translated) of Thibault's book is "Academy of the Sword: wherein is demonstrated by mathematical rules on the foundation of a mysterious circle the theory and practice of the true and heretofore unknown secrets of handling arms on foot and horseback."

Tekken 2 OST. Taking the themes from T1 and refining the identity of the soundtrack. They toned down the industrial synths some and focused on giving the melodies time to shine. Interesting focus on Character Themes vs Location The version of the OST I listened to had a few remixes that were great.

I listened to both the Arcade and PlayStation versions of the soundtrack. Its an interesting synth mix that felt very 90s industrial with some jazzy bits they were afraid to let rip. PS Version was overall a better listening experience imo.
Overall a serviceable fighting game soundtrack.
