You know what sucks? I'm a furloughed Fed. Personal retirement is tied up in Vanguard. They force me to be a shareholder in Tesla. I didn't fucking approve of Musk's stupid salary. I've begged to get out of Tesla and they won't do it. But if I left, they'd charge me an arm and leg. #FuckElonMusk

I don't believe the alleged Musk-Trump rift is real. This is damage control and reality tv phony manufactured drama. I have seen nothing that indicates otherwise. Meanwhile, the BBB is about the worst bill ever and the federal government is still being dismantled.

I've got several neighbors in the armed forces (along with many other civilian Feds). I sort of broached one with the whole thing about the military turning on Americans and he comfortingly assured me and said "I won't follow illegal orders. I know no one who would." 🕊️

I will say that Chuck is correct that if the gov were to stay shut for more than 30 days, Trump and Musk would be able to RIF Feds indiscriminately under 5 CFR 351. All the GOP would have to do is hold out for another 30 days on making any movement. I don't love it but it is accurate. 🧵

My fear is that a shutdown will go a long time (longer than 30 days) and will trigger automatic RIFs. But let's please get a shutdown and negotiate a real bill. No on cloture no on GOP CR @markwarner.bsky.social and @kaine.senate.gov don't play games with your constituents. We know better.

Some leg branch employees received the 5-bullets email to Executive Branch employees. They have been advised this occurred because they were on executive branch distribution lists and to notify management and to not respond.
