Is it just me or is this statement weirdly catty? The 3rd paragraph especially, the immature and unbecoming grad student has been sent away to be replaced by an esteemed and learned full-time professor.

almost every novelist you read who's not from the airport fiction or bestseller sections is working a full on day job, including multi-award winners and absolute legends, or they have a spouse or trust that supports them. virtually across the board. just normalize in your mind that's how it works.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

The K in CMYK is the black ink because K stands for Key, as in key plate. In old printing presses that used plates, the key plate was the most detailed, so it usually got black ink. It also means you can't mistake B for Blue, so that's handy.

I have a disproportionate amount of anger for people who pronounce uber as "yoober" but I do have to give it to them because it follows that Uber Eats would be pronounced Yoober Yeets.

Saw a display for a gender reveal party that said "boy or girl: you decide!" and that's certainly a novel way to do it. Son, your gender was chosen in a fair election, you can hold a by-election if you like but it's up to you to convince the voters.
