That's definitely a mood. I know I've been too anxious to try out raids in not just leagues but even the main game since I feel like people would end up being this way. Having friends who just kinda laugh or have fun with the raids instead of taking them super seriously would be 10/10.

600 hours isn't enough, get 1,200 hours to see how much more you like it afterwards.

No real benefit in the main game other than earning points to spend on cosmetics you can spend to sell at the GE or use for yourself.
Leagues are mostly just for fun or for the competitive types who want to get on the leaderboards. It's worth giving it a try even if it doesn't give progression.
