pretty weird that our second most populous state will treat 14 year olds like they're adults, but won't let them on social media until they're 16. feels like a bit of dissonance there

Wait, what!?

Ghislaine Maxwell is being waited on ‘hand and foot’ in a ‘luxury’ prison: a top official said he was ‘sick of having to be Maxwell’s bitch.’

Trump made sure the woman who helped traffic girls for billionaires gets spa treatment in exchange for her silence.

I have zero expectations for LNP - and they exceed those expectations every day.

I did however have some expectations for Labor - and I now feel completely betrayed.

I truly didn’t think they would be this bad.

Could and should be so different 😞😞 #auspol

Would be good if they investigated corruption as much as they investigate their own conduct imo

Just think about this.

A supposedly left leaning Premier is going to force people out of their homes and livelihoods in service to a planet destroying fossil fuel company that pays no tax and hasn’t FOR A DECADE.

Make it make sense.

Rio Tinto has an old mining facility in Arnhem Land that it doesn’t really use but won’t close. Rio will need to pay $4bn to repatriate the land if closed. So it sits almost empty.

Their town which is similarly empty has 100 empty houses while First Nations ppl live 10 to a house 15 mins away.

Look, I think most liberal democratic systems are functionally equivalent, but in Australia and other Westminster states, the set of events which leads to a government shutdown in the US instead triggers a general election, and it'd be nice if the US had that, too

The IMF reports on 191 countries.

Australia is ranked 2nd

We're 1 of only 7 countries out of 191 with an "AAA" credit rating. The USA & the UK's not AAA.

So, if the RW media, the #LNP, and #PHON are saying things are bad in Australia, then you should know they are only #gaslighting you.

Our healthcare system is strained with packed waiting rooms, patients waiting in pain for years, and delayed appointments due to cost. But a solution exists.

A 25% tax on gas exports could raise $17 billion a year, funding that could help our healthcare system.

Because we knew it wouldn’t last. But even I didn’t think it’d be over in less than a week. What a complete & utter humiliation for Trump, thanks to Netanyahu.
