Namibia... Nice. 👌
FT8 is interesting, if a bit hypnotic, but you can't beat a proper QSO, whether that's voice or CW (or other chatty mode).

With the state of the roads in Edinburgh, you'd be hard pushed to get above 20 anyway!

I've bought more stuff from QRPLabs than I probably should have over the years and that was the first time I've been stung. Not a bad average, I suppose.

They're a bit moreish... We had a great show here in Scotland although it was fairly late so I suffered at work today...

Your blinkered opinions are far outweighed by evidence.

I had a similar FedEx demand letter a couple of weeks after I took delivery of some cheap bits from QRPLabs. I ignored it, as you do, only to later have the debt handed over to a collection agency who slapped on their own charges. Lesson learned.

Wait a minute! I thought you had a boat trip and then fish and chips. Didn't know they did it as a package deal! That sounds perfect. Just needs a Guinness chaser.

Salt and sauce...👌

I'll not be checking QRZ, or any "app" to see if it's ok to use a frequency in case someone has put their towel down on the sunbed... I'll carry on calling QRL and if nothing is heard, I'm using the frequency. I enjoy the radio because it gets me AWAY from the computer / internet for a while!

That'll be why they sound so robotic 😂

I heard that the other day on the same frequency (maybe last Saturday?) - Automated weather reports then a call for check-ins to the maritime mobile net. Must be a new thing. All hail the AI maritime mobile net bots.

Objection submitted, and I'm not even a SAT operator. 👍

That's not the rain you're seeing. It's glaucoma kicking in after eating that donut!

S5 isn't bad for an indoor antenna.

He eventually waddled off back under the heather. Probably reserving his strength for a later assault....

This little guy sat beside me on the grouse butt for a while while I tapped away on the radio. I think he's keen on getting licensed.

Most of that will be my evaporated sweat from yesterday evening's stumble up Spartleton in the blistering heat.

Apologies 🫤

That's pretty brutal noise, Jim. It's getting worse round here too. I used to have an S3 to S5 noise floor on 40m but lately it's gone crazy.

Great results there, David. Very impressed with the DX contact! I was using my mid-band QMX on a local 2-pointer a few weeks ago and decided to give SSB a go. I was amazed by how well it worked.
