I should have specified. I am mostly referring to Abrahamic religions.

Faith has been the issue, historically.

The Bible has some horrifically immoral stuff in it. The god in it seems immoral himself. It doesn't surprise me that anyone who views the Bible as a positive piece of literature would be hateful.

I still don't like the belief system as a whole, but I will give credit where it is due.

When I was trying out this same church, they were incredibly welcoming and amazing people. I think part of it is that I live in a very liberal area (for the most part).

Unfortunately the Bible also gives info on how to treat your slaves, so I'd hope people don't adhere to it lol. It really is an awful thing. I wish more people would just have empathy for the sake of it, not because they're told to.

I HATE religion, but shout out to the Methodist Church in my neighborhood for creating tiny houses for homeless people, despite the batshit Republicans in the neighborhood trying to put a stop to it.

They were afraid their already overinflated house value would go down.

Religion as a whole is holding humanity back. I hate it with a passion.
