Hey, look. Rich people in coastal mansions strongly support giving themselves a tax break to... incentive themselves to not burn down their neighborhood... again. These guys never miss an opportunity to wreck the tax code.🙃

LA is just so strikingly beautiful in so many ways.

I feel like this would be epic if it were at ground level and integrated into an urban grid instead of a private retreat 10m above ground level.

Santa Monica is pretty good.

I'm told "they" say that riding an ebike is cheating. So, I dunno... Maybe you should cheat? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BMI is one of the stupidest metrics ever devised. Of course TFG is a fan.

Nice!🫡 I would have been up there, too, but I crashed my bike on the 24th.🫤

If I were going to take up an interest in sportball, this is where I would go to watch.

This is LA County. Decades of NIMBYism resulting in decades of studying the problem, raising billions, and then blocking the solution every single time because someone wants it somewhere else. NIMBYism is intolerance and hate, and we need to recognize it in our communities accordingly.

🤔 measuring by time or by distance?
October 21, 2025 at 8:42 PM
We actually do this here. Sidewalks and bike lanes have reflectors and brightly colored posts. Parking garages have bright yellow bollards. People still crash into them. The people publishing this stuff should not only not be allowed to dress themselves, they should be fired. It doesn't work.

Feeling especially crotchety and broke down today, so taking the bus to PT in the thunderstorm. This jacket still looks cool on the bus, though! @bikelaneuprising.bsky.social

I see your walk into the sea and raise you walk across the sky.

What is French for mileage?
October 10, 2025 at 7:58 AM
Apparently, a car light lifestyle makes "rest days" a challenge.

Hah! I have defeated the Fitbit! I wore my watch to bed EVERY night in September!
I'm pretty sure my sleep totem is ghost because the algorithm is pretty sure I should have died.

Drivers ALL the way into the bike box and crosswalk with cops directly behind them suffering zero consequences, and people wonder why some ride on the sidewalks. 🙄

I ♥️ extreme 7 story buildings.

Yes, the rent is too damn high, but God damn if it's not worth every cent.
September 13, 2025 at 3:43 AM
That seems worse.
September 7, 2025 at 7:10 PM
That seems... Bad.

I have taken the best automated EVs available in Santa Monica. I have taken the best automated EVs available in Paris. The Paris EVs win hands down. It's not even close.

I try to imagine how amazing the US would be if we'd spent $100B on electrifying and automating trains instead. 🤯😵
September 5, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Paris has excellent automated EVs. You were just looking in the wrong place.

Agreed on the principle of kinetic energy, but also, my top speed was achieved while the motor was off. Why apply that principle only to e-bikes?

Conversely, inattention is dangerous. Which is less likely to be on their phone? The person pedaling or the person flipping a throttle with their thumb?

LA. Man.
