If you want to see what the budget is actually funding...here is the list!

And it doesn't even include things like the scrapping of the 2-child benefits cap, as that would be a tax change, rather than spending.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social
What spending was announced / funded / committed to in the 2025 Budget?

It's a long list - and likely incomplete, so will add more if I hear of them!

+ recommits to £120bn public investment across the Parliament

+ doubling local roads funding - now over £2bn

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

“I’m talking about borrowing for… investment”

Green leader Zack Polanski defends his plans to increase borrowing and says the “trust of the public” is more important than markets when it comes to managing the UK's debt and spending.

Thinks he can beat the markets. Embarrassing

Bias is often in the eye of the beholder

So let’s stick to measurable facts

During 10 yrs of debate about Brexit, BBC QuestionTime had Britain’s Members of the European Parliament on the show 50 times

Every single one was from the pro Brexit minority

47 were from UKIP/BP

23 times Farage

You gotta wonder - do journalists at the Guardian talk to each other? First they run a story about Bacon being carcinogenic and the need for health warnings (a long standing food scandal that one) - then, barely a day later, a puff piece on which bacon ‘crisps up’ the best…..Jeez.

I think this speech needs sharing again.

Since the PM said this, there have been Tories who have come out & said the same as Reform: that they want to see people with a legal right to be in the UK get deported.

Call it out and stand up for these people - our friends, neighbours and key workers.

For those who regularly tell me Labour are just Tory lite. They really aren’t. You’re being mugged off by the media who want you to believe that . I can give you multiple examples like this to prove my point. But this is worth a read esp if you’re outside London.

Today’s opinion poll write ups would be more useful if they all carried a health warning along the lines of …”in 1982 the SDP-Liberal alliance rose to 50 pct in the polls. At the election only a year later its support was 25 pct and it won 23 seats. The Tories won a landslide majority of 144.”
