You guyssssss! *Squeals* my family planted this lil bitty plum tree last year. We didn't expect it to make it over winter in our yard. But, it's survived 😍 #tinyhomestead #urbanhomestead #planttrees #growyourfood #growfoodnotlawns

I was so proud of the scoring on this Amish bread recipe I tried after my husband did it perfectly twice. Hahahaha. Then I turned it to the side and realized it had a butthole. 😂 I can't tell if this is a fail or a win. #buttholebread

This week finished this book. We cried together. We discussed what it means to be a friend to immigrants, and what La Linea is for all those who wish to cross it. Teaching my kids about humanity, and what it means to persist. #immigration #reading #books #stories

These onions started to sprout so we separated the bulbs, and we are planting them so we have a continuous harvest of green onions for meals. 🤩

Something is growinnnng. I cleaned up and organized this little plants shelf after I took the pic. Now, we have seeds sprouting for Swiss Chard, green onions growing, and our sprouts tray is full. I also planted atomic red and lunar white carrots. I'm stoked to see what grows this year!

My kiddo made these amazing mini beignets today, at my direction and dude. So bomb. Simple, cheap, easy, home fried goodness 🤤

So... A year ago my triglycerides were 396... Now they are 205. I honestly couldn't be more proud of myself. Or more flabbergasted that what did it was not eating a low fat diet, but the opposite. And cutting out seed oils, and processed food. I mainly heat whole foods.

My kiddo and I attempted a new bread recipe. It smells amazing... But it looks like something an archaeologist would dig up 😅 #homemade #bread #simplebread #diy

Tried my hand at home made flour tortillas again today. I added homemade onion powder, and parsley to the dough. Then I had cream cheese and honey spread on them and omfg 🤤 🤤 🤤 #foodie #homemade #tortillas

Today I'm learning to render and store beef fat from last night's pound of ground beef so it can be reused on nights we have beans and rice. I am so grateful to have been able to find this solution to make our food budget stretch. #resist #wastenotwantnot #foodprices #budget #economy

Made some golden milk, read more from Ishmael with my kids, and took a long hot bath. Even if the world is bleak I can find small ways to enjoy it out of spite. 🤩 #slowdown

Homemade plum butter from a bulk batch of plums we got from our food bank earlier last fall. We kept them frozen because we couldn't eat them quickly. I also dehydrated some limes as well, for simmer pots 😍 #kitchenwitch #simmerpots #homemade #foodie #lowbudget #urbanhomestead

Reading is rebellion. This is such a lovely book. A dear friend of mine suggested this author and series years ago, and I have loved Ishmael since. This past week I've been reading it to my kids and tbh I wish everyone could read this book. #reading #bannedbooks #rebellion #toberead

My first upcycled paper project (in a long time) has turned out! Upcycled junk mail, dyed with onion skins and infused with tumeric (to yellow it a bit), and calendula leaves. 😍 I am making these as gifts/spring cards because... I mean why not? #diy #paper #upcycled #handmade #homemade
