More people should see stingy behavior/selfishness as a character flaw. That’s his wife. Historically, the primary reason of marriage is to combine finances.

He hates her and/or is plotting an exit plan. He is not “saving to retire THEM early.”
Husband makes $700K. Wife makes $100K. He wants her to contribute more to their expenses.

The so-called “options” are rarely about having plenty. Most times, it is just fear. Fear of choosing wrong. Fear that there is something better around the corner. Fear of sitting with yourself long enough to figure out what actually matters to you instead of chasing whatever looks exciting in the moment. The painful part is clarity usually arrives late. By the time you realise the difference between exploring and distracting yourself, the person who cared has already moved on. They got tired of being treated like a temporary plan while you kept searching for something you could not even define.

Went to a Pen Show today and had the best time being the nerd/enthusiast I truly am.
Forest green feather fountain pen with stand, nibs, and ink. Table by Bob Nurin featuring a massive Lamy collection. Custom hand poured resin and precious metal pens. Prices ranged from $400 to $1500 within this case. A Kaweco Sport Aluminum pen I picked up. Added a gold nostalgia clip.
