Sounds like pathetic insecurity to me. To be frank, sounds like white dudes got one whiff of having to be more than mediocre in order to be lauded, and turned almost immediately to bigotry. Go work on your 10,000 hours and stop listening to manosphere podcasts. Okay end of rant.

Systems are actively working against people's survival every day, and when the business/governing institutions in our country take one little step in the direction of acknowledging that instead of just straight up gaslighting, it's the end of the world?

But sometimes I find myself talking to someone who truly believes, in their hear of hearts, that every good thing that's come to them is a result of their virtue and work, and every bad thing that happens to someone else is because of a failing on their part. It's delusion.

Not that I find myself spending a lot of my time trying to do this, but I overheard someone saying "diversity, equality, and inclusion policy" today and I was like dude...you can't even get the acronym right.
