I'm so excited for, and have so many feelings about Superman and the importance of this new movie that I'm trying to remember my Substack password.

I don't remember who or what told me to check out Ted Kord/Blue Beetle because they seemed the most "like me" but between the 80s JLI series and Len Wein's run, they were 100% right. I love this dude and DC did him dirty.

I didn't "get" Bette Davis—I immensely respected recognized her talent, but didn't "get" it— until a few months ago when I watched William A. Wellman's "So Big!" where she turns up with about 20 minutes left and almost steals the entire picture.

The "It Factor" was absolutely off the charts for her
BOTD: the incomparable Bette Davis, a Hollywood legend whose talent and tenacity continue to inspire generations. From "All About Eve" to "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?," she is remembered as one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood history.

Between season two of Star Trek Discovery and season one of Picard, you can pretty much map out a likely rough foundation of how this new Mass Effect game is gonna play out trying to bring back Shepard.

Friendly reminder that most of modern capitalism and all of social media is remasked feudalism.

I rewatched the pilot for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds the for the first time since it aired, and I forgot about the part where Captain Pike shows another planet news clips of the US, describing the clips as being right before "the second civil war" and it's straight up January 6th footage.

Kino Lorber hasn't had an announcement that got an audible "Holy shit" and "text everyone I can think of about it" response outta me since probably High Noon

Dead of Night certainly reset the counter.

Just finished Voyager in my Great Years Long Star Trek Binge:

DS9
TNG
Lower Decks
VOY = TOS
DIS

I can't properly rank Strange New Worlds since there've only been two seasons, and I still have Enterprise, Picard, Prodigy, and the Animated Series to watch.

And thus begins my quest of rebuying all the 90's @playmatestoys.bsky.social Star Trek figures I had as a kid and/or quest of collecting all the crew members from each show

Shout out to The Toy Department in Fairfield for being the only place around that makes me feel like it's 1996.

People are gonna be sellin' eggs like they're Don West slingin' Beanie Babies at 6:30am in the 90s.
February 5, 2025 at 9:38 PM
This is for like 4 people at most but

If Star Trek: Voyager maintained cultural significance into 2000, a motion ride based on Drive (S07E03) would have been a perfect replacement for Days of Thunder/License to Thrill at Paramount's Kings Island Action Theater until SpongeBob took it over in 2003

Woke up to Luka being a Laker and DeWanna motherfuckin Bonner signing with the Fever

The best thing that ever came of my 18-month run with a C-list video game podcast in 2018-2019 were the indie games I got to cover for free that are now what I'm using to introduce my kids to games.
February 1, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Me, actively avoiding watching Section 31 while also wanting to own all of Star Trek on disc.
January 28, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Really thought I'd hate all the Borg lore in the back half of Voyager, but halfway through season 5 and I am shocked by how much I'm on board with it all.
January 26, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Add, Bride of Chaotica! to the list of favorites.
Year of Hell absolutely fucks though, my goodness.
Star Trek Voyager has got to be the most seven out of ten* show I've ever watched (complimentary)

*Yes there's a Seven out of Nine joke I could have made, but I'd rather have not made it, call attention to its potential existence, and steal your moment from making it.
January 26, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Peter Gabriel was Altered Beast

Phil Collins was Sonic the Hedgehog.

That's a Genesis joke.
January 25, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Love me some Marie Windsor, and am happy to see two films of hers included in here

Let's get Narrow Margin next.
