I am once again trying to decipher if I actually want to get back into FFXIV for the gameplay or if I just want to spend 5 hours in character creation so I can run around as an attractive fantasy character

Apparently, I somehow missed that the idol can't be stolen after the votes are cast so that def would have worked LOL. But it was a good bluff to pass it off like the idol could've been stolen and ultimately a little too much misplaced trust to not save themself with it #SurvivorAU
Okay, my question (names omitted for spoilers) is: could the person who played the idol have told the person with the idol steal advantage, "oh yeah, I'm playing this for so and so" and then played it for themself at the podium? Or could the idol still have been stolen at that juncture #SurvivorAU
