don't worry, john roberts says this is a legitimate exercise of presidential power and if we did anything to curb it, we would be robbing the executive of the energy he needs to do his job
Trump rages that Henry Cuellar didn’t pay him back for a pardon by switching parties, blasting Cuellar for a “lack of LOYALTY.”

In other words, Trump admits he was trying to use his pardon power to buy Republicans a House seat.

yes. if you woke up from a coma you slipped into sometime in late september/early october and saw this bracket, sure. but hearing so much about how close Alabama and Notre Dame were — Irish were ahead two weeks ago! — and then doing that is insane.
Bama being in is much more frustrating than anything, Miami going above because of h2h I get and don’t have issue with, the way comm waited to last second to do it seems stupid. Sucks cause I think ND could win it all, but again, can’t put yourself in this position. The kayfabe nonsense annoying tho

Alabama is treated the way fans believe Notre Dame has been treated. The further they get away from Saban, the more glaring this will be
So, BYU was penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game (dropped one spot). Which allowed Miami to move up and get compared directly to Notre Dame.

But Alabama was not penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game.

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

Trump is invading American cities to nominally address crime, and I think the scale of his pardon-sprees should be given more political salience
When this criminal was jailed, the judge told David Gentile and America: ‘This is a warning to would-be fraudsters that seeking to get rich by taking advantage of investors gets you only a one-way ticket to jail.’ I guess not

I wrote a piece recently about how Trump, Putin, Musk and the rest are actually fellow citizens of a borderless, lawless society designed to enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else. Politics and patriotism are just a cover.

given how unpopular Trump is, it’s insane that civil society/universities/law firms are still asking themselves “how do I stay on Trump’s good side” rather than “how do I avoid facing consequences for complying with Trump’s illegal demands”

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.
