Meet Tater Tot. He came to OR fr ASPCA in CA where infection cost him one eye. Sadly, the other also had to be removed by vets at CAT. Tater spent 8 weeks at our house recovering and adapting.

He’s the sweetest, bravest, smartest boy, and he now has a great home. #Caturday #kittens #BlindCats
A gorgeous 4 month old gold tabby kitten with a white front and white paws stands with his head raised as he listens to the sound of my voice telling him that I brought treats. His lost both his eyes to cataracts and infection when he was very young and has adapted brilliantly. We don’t know if he ever had much sight as his eyes had apparently been damaged for a long time. Normally, crowded and overwhelmed kill shelters would euthanize such a cat but he was rescued in time. The ASPC in LA did one surgery and CAT in OR did the other. He had excellent pain management and got lots of love and care at our place. He is playful, and courageous which tells me that beginning early on he was loved. He is super heathy otherwise so he probably had his mother’s milk, as well. It killed me not to keep him but he wouldn’t be safe indoors at our place because of the floor plan. His new family is taking great care of him and he is an indoor cat. He may someday get a catio. I hope so.

Our Queen and eldest rescue cat, Rose, a Tuxedo cat with green eyes, sits up on our dining room table. She is “helping” with the paperwork. Her tail is wrapped around her and she looks very calm and ladylike but at some point she may dip a paw in my coffee as a way of saying “It’s time for a break.”

I feel this, thank you. Our beloved dog, Leo, turns 9 tomorrow. Our 2 remaining cats (out of 5) are now 10 and 13.

Leo will be my last big dog as I won’t be able to handle that size in future. When these fur friends pass on, we will only adopt senior cats, and an adult or senior dog I can lift. 🧡

Went to CAT’s shelter to drop off Halloween cupcakes and cookies for the staff and volunteers working the holiday.

Home again. We don’t get trick or treaters on our mountain so we’ll be tucked up warm on this rainy night with some good books and the fur kids.

Tater Tot, our blind foster kitten was adopted yesterday. He is loving, cuddly, playful and brave. Tater will have a gentle cat friend (who was downhearted, missing their cat companion who had passed) and a loving, cat savy Dad who is up for the challenge.
Lots of hearts being healed right now. 🧡
A blind gold and white 5 month old male tabby kitten is standing by his bed waiting for some treats. His eyes had to be removed due to infection. He’d had low vision most of his life and adapted well. He is one of our favorite fosters, ever, and we’re glad he got such a good home. Have a great life sweetheart.

Woohoo! Our Oregon Costco has the 2025 Novavax Covid booster. I’m getting that, and the flu shot.

Our blind foster Tater Tot (official name Solanum)* got his stitches out. He has his own room at CAT with his favorite toys, nature sounds via video and a fab scratching post.

Our blind golden tabby boy got his stitches out and is finally free of the cone. He likes his new room at the Cat Adoption Team and is waiting for his forever home. We will miss this loving, brave kitten. He was a joy to foster. Our blind foster kitten Tater, now free of the cone, is enjoying a huge scratching post in his room at the Cat Adoption Team. You can visit him there if you can offer him a safe and loving indoor only home. We want the best possible home for this special little guy. Our blind foster kitten Tater is exploring his new room at CAT. He has lots of his favorite “noisy” toys and beds and even a video player with nature sounds.
