Disabled, AuDHD. Trying to get by in life. (mostly he/him)
Just a ghost of the person I could have been.

There’s a disturbing lack of outrage over ICE’s aggressive tackling and arrest of a non verbal autistic man in Chicago.

Just like the lack of outrage over Rodney Taylor, a disabled double amputee who’s been held in solitary for months.

Disabled lives matter too!
Disabled People are Being Mistreated in ICE Detention Facilities
Why is no one talking about it? Where's the media? Where's the public outcry? Another example of the pervasive nature of ableism and how society views disabled people as expendable.

So this is why my wonderful, angry foul-mouthed internet friends disappeared. I'd say something at BS, but then my friends who don't know about this setting won't saee it.
this thing hides posts it judges as ‘rude’, by some US standard. Thereby silencing most of the conversations in Ireland and Scotland, at least.
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

People always say "go big or go home," but I'm an introvert, man. I fucking LOVE going home. Why aren't we home already?

We're going to talk about c19 today and I'm going to ask you all in advance to not zone out like you do when we're talking about it in person😑

Covid not "a cold" - it attacks every system of the body, making it weaker to every other kind of infection. There's another illness that does similar.

I was running low on autism, so I got my annual booster yesterday. Now my arm is sore.

The regime fired everyone involved in the funding and administration of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

They’re letting measles and other infectious and disabling diseases run rampant, and then removing disability support.

It’s eugenics and they aren’t even hiding it.

This is important to know if you hang out with anyone with chronic illness. We absolutely can go from "fine" to "It's all bad" in a matter of minutes.

We aren't faking it being bad. Don't be offended. It really is never about you.

Instead, help us or get out of our way.
Sometimes it's even minute by minute.
Chronic illness management is not day by day. It’s hour by hour. #NEISvoid

I have a friend I refuse to have a phone conversation with because he exclusively uses speakerphone, even in public. I hate phone calls in general, but that's way too far.

This was one of the first songs I ever performed as a baritone that wasn't part of a choir. The harmonies and cadence are challenging but worth every effort.
Made the mistake of accidentally listening to “Lily’s Eyes” today and now my brain is acting like a toddler after tasting ice cream, but with craving harmonies.

Silly brain chemistry. If only someone could bottle what that minute of music does, they could do a lot of good or evil in the world...

They just declared anti-fascism as the enemy. How much more plainly do they have to say it for you to understand that fascism is their goal?

In court, a case can be thrown out because it lacks, on its face, the minimum standing to be worth hearing.

We should hold at least the same level of requirement for political discourse. Racist talking points should lose them the minimum standing to be worth hearing.
Sincerely the worst thing about political discourse for the past 10 years is this insistence that we should hear everyone out and every stance is worth a debate.

Espousing racist talking points and misleading stats doesn't make someone civil or even worth engaging.

Not one of them addressing the school kids shot today in Colorado.

That says more than i ever could.

Age Verification?

Send the requirements to my (still active) hotmail account.
Age verification?

There has to be a Strong Bad Email about that.
Age verification?

I used to get the internet in the mail, 10 hours at a time.

So my argument is being autistic is my personality, because my traits have formed who I am. They have led to the experiences which have formed me, and they influence how I look, act, speak, walk, everything. I don't see why we should be made to feel bad about being ourselves by recognising that. 23/

people who say you shouldn’t treat anyone differently are telling you what they think about difference, that it’s automatically bad or less

👉 one should of course treat people differently, depending on their situation, preferences, needs…because different does not inherently mean better or worse 🌈💫

You can’t “wellness” your way out of chronic illness and disability.

People are desperate to believe that enough exercise, healthy food, raw milk & sunshine will make them bulletproof.

Why? Ableism. They don’t want to face the fact that one day they will be disabled.

You weren’t “resilient".
You were pushed beyond your limits with no choice but to go on.

You weren’t “easygoing".
You were dissociating.

You weren’t “independent".
You were unsupported.

They loved the mask because it helped you live.

You deserved care.
Not endurance tests.

Apparently, $2256 is too much to spend on your independence, but $150k is easily spent for your incarceration.
Once again, it's about control.

I know it feels good to be told you're super, especially when people have been telling you the opposite your whole life, but don't fall for it.

Pull your view out of the toxic capitalism paradigm and look for value in humanity not productivity.

You'll be happier and healthier.
the most prominent autistic voices on the internet are those who push productivism and behavioralism.

"we have superpowers and are super human geniuses who add to the bottom line!"

you are not a machine.

you are not a product.

you're a human.
