It is not the technology but the capitalist corporate profit-only driven nature of our economy. Meanwhile, we idealize the past as memory is funny. It was never as good as we remember.

These "new studies" are rarely peer reviewed, nor do the "journalists" writing about them understand the material, so they tend to parse it like a hallucinating AI. Which tracks, considering now it's probably actually AI.
